Editor-in-chief of “Black Sea Security” magazine
An aviation engineer by profession, M.HONCHAR has 39 years of professional experience, including service in the Air Force, shipbuilding industry, public service at the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, and research work at the National Institute for Strategic Studies. In the 2000s, M.HONCHAR worked in Ukraine’s oil and gas sector, holding senior positions.
For the past 25 years, M.HONCHAR has been researching on international and security relations, energy, and maritime security. Mr.HONCHAR is the author, co-author, and editor of a number of books and publications published in Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, Great Britain, Turkey, the Netherlands, Finland, etc.
M.HONCHAR was an expert on the Ukrainian side of intergovernmental commissions on economic cooperation with Germany, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey. In 2016-2019, Mr. HONCHAR was a member of the National Committee on Industrial Policy. Mr. HONCHAR is an associate expert at the Razumkov Centre and the Centre for russian Studies.
Mr. HONCHAR holds the Honorary Diplomas by Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
