Col (Ret.) Pavliuchyk is an expert on defence policy and strategic planning. Since 2020 he has been a Fellow of the Centre of Defence Strategies. He is also an adviser on the defence resource planning to the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
Advisor to the Minister of Defence of Ukraine (2019-2020); Deputy Chief of the Strategic Planning Department of MoD (2018-2020); Deputy Chief of the Defence Cooperation Department of MoD 2016-2018, Acting Chief of Strategic Assessment Branch of Military Policy Directorate, MoD 2015-2016.
During his military career Col (Ret.) Pavliuchyk held dozens of positions within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which included multiple deployments in peacekeeping operations in Lebanon and Iraq and the position of senior officer of the Military Strategic Analysis Branch of the General Staff
